Cleaner Products are delighted to have acquired the supply contract for ‘The Salutation’ in Sandwich, Kent. We know that Mike Heyfron’s unique service style will add a great deal of value to the operations at The Salutation.
The Salutation is set 200ft back from the River Stour, four minutes' walk from the heart of picturesque Sandwich. The Grade I-listed house, designed in 1911 by Edwin Lutyens, and heritage gardens are an attraction in their own right (guests have complimentary access to the gardens). The Royal St George's Golf Club is 4 minutes' drive away and the Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club and Prince's Golf Club are 10 minutes' drive.
The Salutation’s restaurant has been the domain of Head Chef Shane Hughes since summer 2017 and is poised for culinary greatness. Having worked at The Connaught, Lanesborough and Whatley Manor, the former Michelin-starred Hughes embraces local Kentish produce and the herbs, vegetables and edible plants grown in the Salutation gardens. The newly-designed restaurant affords views of the kitchen through full-length glass walls and doors, through which Hughes emerges to serve dishes to guests. The à la carte and tasting menu feature dishes like roast scallops served with heritage beetroot, parmesan bonbons, smoked haddock and potato espuma and Kentish roe deer with pork cheek cooked in cider caramel, glazed parsnips and juniper sauce.
