Cleaner Products - Co2 reductions

At Cleaner Products, innovation and sustainability go hand in hand — we never stand still when it comes to reducing our carbon footprint and making our brand even more environmentally responsible. We are delighted to share the success of one of our latest environmental initiatives, which is already showing significant and measurable reductions in emissions.

Since January of this year, we have successfully prevented 3,675 kg of CO₂ emissions from being released into the atmosphere, thanks to the installation of a major solar panel system across the roofs of our barns at our manufacturing hub in Orpington, Kent. This investment represents a major milestone in our ongoing sustainability journey and highlights our commitment to positive environmental action.

The energy generated by our new solar array not only powers all of our manufacturing and operational processes but has also created an exciting opportunity for the future of our logistics. We fully intend to use this clean energy source to power our delivery vehicles, once electric vehicle technology evolves to better meet the needs of our business model.

Steve Hodges, our Financial Director, has been leading the project to transition Cleaner Products towards a fully electric distribution system. Over the past three years, Steve and his team have carefully assessed the practicalities of this changeover, and the successful completion of our solar energy project represents a major leap forward in reaching our emissions reduction goals.

This achievement marks just the beginning. Cleaner Products will continue to explore and invest in smart, sustainable innovations to ensure that we remain at the forefront of responsible manufacturing and distribution in the UK hospitality sector. We are proud of the progress we’ve made—and even more excited about the future.
